Who are we?

We’re a passionate and ambitious multi-disciplinary building consultancy who have grown exponentially over the last few years, building our reputation in the local area for excellence in commercial and residential projects.  Whilst we’re serious about our work, we take a more relaxed view on our working culture.  Fancy a drink from our fully stocked bar, or a game of pool?  You make the call.  We don’t micro-manage, we’re all about a grown up working culture, and we trust you to get on and do the work you need to do.

The role

This is a key role within the finance department, where no two days are ever the same.  You will have responsibility for all administration within the department, as well as providing first level accounting support to clients and staff. This is a part time position 15 hours a week, ideally worked over three days.  On a day to day basis you will be opening and distributing mail, scanning invoices, receipts and accounts documents for processing,  conducting bank reconciliations and purchase ledger administration.  Also you will have responsibility for Sales and Credit Control including taking customer payments, issuing sales invoices and some chasing of invoice payments.  Another area of the role is payroll administration including document checking and maintaining employee files.  You will also be administering staff expenses and mileage claims. The position give you the opportunity to develop wide range of skills in an interesting and stimulating environment.

Who you’ll be?

An ambitious self-starter who is capable of working on their own initiative, with a positive proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.  You will be able to work with confidentiality and to tight deadlines. We’d love to see some previous experience in a commercial office environment, and you’ll be keen to take your career to the next level.  AAT level 1 /2  is desirable but not essential.  You’ll be confident working with Word & Excel, and some experience of online accounting applications such as Xero would be great, but it’s not essential.

What’s in it for you?

If you’re ambitious, this is the perfect chance to thrive within an established business.

If you are looking for a role with scope to progress and grow - this could be the opportunity for you.  This role would fit perfectly around studies, and we’ll happily discuss study leave as option if that’s what you need.

Our offices are relaxed and open plan, with a fully stocked and functioning bar, pool table and sofa area, perfect to unwind during break.

We can also offer a salary of up to £18K (pro rata) dependent on experience.  To apply send us a copy of your CV and let us know why you’re interested in the role.  Please note, we work with Mployable as our preferred  Recruitment Partner so please direct any enquiries you have to zoe@mployable.co.uk
