North America Polar Specialist
Swoop is expanding and we’re looking for a Polar specialist to help drive Polar sales by expertly selling trips to Antarctica and the Arctic. This is a home working role, for a candidate based ideally in North America (EST preferred).
You would join a small, passionate, highly productive team of globally spread Polar specialists: 3 people in the UK, 1 person in Argentina and 1 person in Australasia.
Who are we?
Swoop Travel is a 30 person (and growing) travel company, specialising in trips to the ends of the earth - Antarctica, Patagonia and The Arctic; extraordinary destinations that provide our customers with incredible experiences and lifelong memories.
We don’t just work in the adventure travel industry, we live, sleep, eat and breathe all things travel and adventure. Our passion is what drives our success, and although there’s plenty of socials, destination-based reconnaissance trips and fun, we work hard and we love what we do. If you don’t dream of your next travel adventure or have regular weekend plans to be out in the fresh air and the wilderness, then maybe we’re not quite the right fit for you.
What you’ll be doing
As part of a small growing team, your role will be to help drive our Polar sales to achieve our growth plans. Alongside sales, you will also be responsible for helping to improve our websites, fostering close working relations with our key partners and supporting the marketing of our destinations.
The job is primarily office-based, however at times this will require flexibility - to meet suppliers, customer meetings, attend industry events and for polar travel as part of an educational recce.
Who you’ll be
You will be a highly self-motivated sales professional, who has a genuine passion for the Polar regions. Your experience will be coupled with impeccable client facing skills, alongside excellent written and verbal communication.
We’d love to see previous success of selling bespoke customer experiences with a successful track record. You'll have the natural ability to inspire and enthuse potential customers about these incredible regions. Most importantly you will have outstanding listening skills and the intuition to understand what customers want before even they do.
In return we can offer
This is a home working role, with the flexibility to choose your own workplace. We already have 6 geographically spread colleagues and have the experience and technology to help bridge gaps in geography
A competitive salary, dependent on your level of experience (plus Polar sales team bonus and company bonus), 20 days holiday per annum (plus your birthday), and annual 2-3 weeks reconnaissance trip.
We work 9am - 6pm (local time) Monday to Friday, but we would ask for a bit of flexibility when needed - and we’ll offer the same in return. We’d also look to you to help provide out-of-office weekend cover for one weekend a month, which means being available to respond to new enquiries only (max. 2 hours a day)
How to Apply
Send us a CV and a brief covering letter that explains what you find so compelling about the Polar regions.
