One.2 are expanding and we are looking for a dynamic Technical Manager to provide technical management and first-class customer service to our valued customers, finding them the right solution to mitigate the risks associated with manufacturing overseas.
Who are we?
One.2 are a forward thinking, fast growing production outsource business, helping to connect UK customers with Chinese manufacturers and manage their long-term relationships. With 25 years of experience under our belts, we’ve got an incredible network of suppliers, and loyal factory relationships. We specialise in metal castings, enabling the supply of thousands of products and millions of parts – ultimately increasing profits for our customers.
What you’ll be doing.
The basis of this role is processing the request for quotations (RFQ) submitted by our customers, interpreting and understanding their needs in order to connect and introduce them to the right supplier, subsequently managing the relationship. You’ll use your engineering skills to understand 2D drawings and 3D models – and have the capability to discuss these confidently with the customers, communicating their needs back to our suppliers in China. In addition, you’ll provide our customers with technical support throughout product development.
A key element of this role is effective communication and building relationships – so you will be spending a fair amount of time on the phone, or other communication channels such as email. Time is of the essence in manufacturing, so we’ll expect you to have your finger on the pulse of all key relationships and projects, maintaining an awareness of the cost implications of time delays.
Problems do crop up, and we’ll look to you to proactively search for solutions in the most time and cost-efficient way to keep projects moving forward.
Who you’ll be?
Technically competent in discussing and interpreting engineering drawings, 3D models and manufacturing processes are key to being considered for this role. We’d also need to be confident that you understand associated tolerances and you’re comfortable on Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook or Excel.
But beyond that – excellent communication is essential in this role. There are many moving parts to what we do, and you will be integral to keeping everything in sync. You’ll need to be proactive, dynamic and passionate about consistently finding the best solutions for our customers needs, desired results and budget.
What’s in it for you?
We’re a growing international business with plans to double our turnover in the next few years – and we’d love you to join us on that journey of growth.
You’ll have the opportunity to attend all-expense paid trips to China a few times each year, and the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses alongside a competitive basic salary.
We encourage you to take an hour’s additional break during the working week to exercise or pursue an active pastime. We’re a ‘grown up’ working environment, and although our standard hours are Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm and 8am-1pm on a Friday, there might be times when we ask for a bit of flexibility – but you’ll get it back in return.
How to apply?
A CV would be great – gives us the chance to get to know you better, and a covering letter to let us know why you’d like to work for us would be awesome.
But if you just want to have an initial chat to find out more – give us a call and we can go from there.
