JPT Carpentry and Builders are embarking on a new phase of growth, and as part of that growth, we’re looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the on-site operations of high end, high value residential building projects.

 The role

This is a core role, integral to the growth of the business, and maintaining the excellent reputation we have developed over several years.  Acting as a key liaison on site between our site managers’, customers and the directors of the business, we’ll be looking to you to take responsibility for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on-budget, by understanding the programme of works, foreseeing any issues and proactively developing plans to overcome those issues.

You’ll be dealing with residential projects with a collective value of £5million – so understanding that you will be working with our valued high net worth customers is essential.

You’ll have responsibility for directly managing the site managers for each project – and subsequently hold responsibility for delivery from their team, leading by example and providing outstanding levels of customer service and exceeding customer expectations in every way.

The role will also take responsibility for tendering and liaising with QS and estimation team to keep control of project finances.

Who you’ll be?

You’ll have a background in managing construction sites and be comfortable managing the on-site management team whilst reporting directly into the managing director – acting as their ears and eyes on-site.

You’ll be well versed in construction project management systems (such as Aster), but also more generic systems (like Trello).  You’ll also hold up to date construction site tickets and certifications (SMSTS, CSCS for example) or be willing to refresh these prior to starting with us.

Your experience will be varied, and ideally, you’ll have worked on both domestic and commercial projects in the region of £250,000 - £3Mil as a minimum, at a contracts or senior site management level.

Finally – you’ll be a first-class communicator, able to communicate with the on-site team, our high net worth residential customers and senior leaders within the business with ease and finesse.

This is a full-time position, working from 7:30am until 4:30pm, but we hope you’d show us some flexibility if needed.
