D Williams & Co are expanding, and to enable our growth we’re looking for an Admin and Accounts Co-ordinator to provide front of house support, including weighbridge operations, basic accounts and managing the day to day administration of our busy site, based in Enfield, Middlesex.

Who are we?

A well-established family run business who sits on the South Herefordshire border.  We’ve been around since 1927 and have since expanded to well over 2,500 acres of arable crop growing.  In 1988 we started the transport section of the company and have continued to grow ever since.  Right now, we specialise in the movement of grains, seeds and fertilisers – but we’ve also expanded and diversified further with the installation of 1.5Mwh foodwaste fed Anaerobic Digestion plant and 25,000 tonne per annum Greenwaste Composting facilities.

What you’ll be doing.

This busy role sits between the day to day office admin and finance, acting as our front of house representative, greeting visitors and customers to the site, offering a fantastic customer service and a great experience for anyone who calls or visits the site.

You’ll also be operating the weighbridge, which can get busy, but on average you’ll only see a few vehicles coming through each day.  This element of the role requires precision and attention to detail, as you’ll be responsible for ensuring the weights on vehicles are accurately recorded and the weighbridge is balanced.  You’ll also be ensuring that all data and record keeping is correct and up to date, alongside filing and categorising all paperwork appropriately.

But the other important part of this role is basic accounts administration.  You don’t need to have any accounting qualifications for the role, but a little bit of accounts experience (in any capacity) will go a long way.

Who you’ll be?

You’ll be the type of person who loves variety and hates getting bored.  No two days are the same, and to be successful you’ll need to be the type of person who is happy to ‘go with the flow’ when it’s all hands-on deck.

During busy periods (for instance harvest season) we might ask for some flexibility in working hours, so the need to be flexible and accommodating will be important.  You’ll also be comfortable that this is a site-based role, in a farm environment

Experience in accounts isn’t necessary – but you’ll have a head for numbers, a good eye for detail and the capability to learn how to use our accounting software.

If you’ve previously worked in an office-based environment where you’ve had to turn your skills to whatever needed doing within the business, and you know a little about a lot - this could be the perfect role for you.

What’s in it for you?

We’re a small, family run business who look after their team, and this role plays a valuable part in keeping the business powerful in its relevant sectors.

We can offer a salary of up to £20,000 (dependent on experience).  We’re open 8am -6pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for a standard 40 hour working week that spans across that period.  However there may be the occasional requirement to work outside of those hours during busy periods, so we like to hope that you’d be flexible when we need you to be – and we can offer the same in return.

If you could see yourself as part of the team, please apply with a CV and one page covering letter to let us know why you’d be perfect for the role.
