DraperHeat is consistently growing, and to support that growth we’re looking to hire a Heating Engineer to join the busy DraperHeat business, to cover routine planned maintenance and call outs on a range of Biomass and LPG boiler sites. Our client sites are predominantly based in the Lincolnshire / Norfolk area – so if you’re based around Boston or Newark – this will be a great location for you.
Due to the nature of the role, there is a reasonable amount of travel and occasional overnight stays involved.
Who are we?
At DraperHeat, we design, install and maintain heating systems for a variety of commercial enterprises, of which poultry is one. Recent changes to the UK service industry infrastructure have opened-up opportunities for DraperHeat to extend and therefore we are looking to recruit a Heating Engineer within Biomass & fossil fuel boiler systems.
What you’ll be doing.
Day to day you’ll be travelling to client site to undertake routine planned maintenance and call outs on range of Biomass and LPG boiler sites, sometimes working alone, but as part of the wider team.
The work will include servicing boilers including Passat, Hoval, ETA, Justsen, Heizomat, Herz, Guntamatic and BHSL, and the work will be a mix of include routine de ashing, minor and major servicing and non-scheduled callouts.
The wider heating systems beyond the buffer vessel will also require service/maintenance and repairs. This work will include repairing pipework damage, leaks, pump repairs/replacement, strainer cleaning and other related tasks, but in-house and manufacturers training will be provided for the more specific elements of the role.
You’ll also need to assist and manage some new heating installations when required.
Who you’ll be?
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience with Biomass boilers, and whilst this isn’t essential, at the very least we’ll be looking for commercial plumbing experience or with fabrication or mechanical engineering experience. In addition, any experience with fossil fuel boilers would be advantageous, but not essential.
You’ll be a complete team player, with a positive attitude and the ambition to help us grow the business and develop your own skills and experience in the process. You’ll be a great communicator, who can offer an excellent service to our customers and work well within the team and the wider group.
The role is physically demanding, and will be impacted by poor weather – which you will need to be comfortable working in, so you’ll need to be resilient and comfortable with manual, demanding work.
