Sweet Construct are growing, and to drive that growth we’re hiring a Part Time (24 hours per week) Accounts Assistant to support the finance function.

The role 

As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide support to a busy and dynamic accounts team over three days a week. The role will include dealing with general tasks such as managing the invoice process; including preparation, updating, matching with supplier statements and using your experience to deal with invoice enquires.  

You will also be required to apply your attention to detail for project data input, credit control, completing monthly bank reconciliations and supporting the payroll function will form a key element of the position. 

An objective of the role is to support a software migration from Xero onto a bespoke accounting system, including maintenance and reconciling accounts within Xero to prevent/correct errors – although previous experience in Xero isn’t essential. 

Who you’ll be? 

You’ll have previous experience in a finance department and be able to hit the ground running with day to day finance tasks such as payroll and bank reconciliation as well as general duties such as responding to emails and answering telephone enquiries. 

Ideally you will have previous experience of supporting or running a payroll within a similar position – or the capability to learn this at speed. 

You’ll understand the importance of accuracy and deliver consistently on attention to detail.  You’ll be a great communicator, happy to answer queries and questions from our suppliers, customers and the wider team. You’ll be responsive, positive and capable of working to tight deadlines and sometimes under pressure.
