Project Manager (Mechanical)
As a wise man once said; “Project Managers are the most creative pros in the world; we have to figure out everything that could go wrong, before it does” Are you looking for a new challenge with innovative projects?
Wheelers is still growing and to support that growth we’re hiring a Project Manager within our Mechanical Department. Working from our head office in Westbury, on a variety of full refurbishment projects, ranging from schools and hospitals to high-end country homes and estates, you’ll be overseeing the installation of plumbing, heating and renewable energy products to our valued customers.
The perks? We are proud of our heritage and the fact that we are a local employer, employing local people. We believe that people are our greatest asset and we will match your commitment to us by offering you job security, a salary of up to £45,000 (dependent on experience) a company car/allowance, a laptop, a mobile phone and a Wheeler’s pencil and pen! As if that wasn’t enough, we know that the way to keep great people like you, is to make you feel valued and invested in, so we also offer great opportunities for continuous professional development and training.
What’s the catch? No catch, just a genuinely interesting and varied workload. You’ll be managing projects from inception, ensuring that everyone is kept safe and happy along the journey by adhering to health and safety guidelines and making “quality a priority”. As most of our commissions are so unique, you will need the ability to identify contracting opportunities and/or variables and ensure that these are evaluated and progressed in a timely manner. There’s the usual liaison and collaboration with engineers and sub-contractors, ensuring that everyone is working to the same goal.
Who are we looking for? You’ll have been working in a similar role for at least 5 years managing projects within the Mechanical and Electrical sector. A capable planner and organiser, you have a proven track record of delivering results based on a quality focus. Comfortable in both domestic and commercial scenarios, you’re a great collaborator, you understand that negotiation, relationship management and interpersonal communication are key in a role such as this. You’ll be the main liaison with a variety of stakeholders so your customer service skills will preferably be at the legendary end of the scale!
